Research On The Visual Communication Of Subway Mural Art

With the rapid development of the city and the public transportation is becoming more and more perfect, the subway has gradually become the main tool of city transportation, the subway mural arts are developing gradually in such a fast-transportated and closed underground space environment, it bringing fresh air to the underground space, relieving people’s psychological repression, at the same time transfering the urban culture and spirit as the city distinct artistic language and spirit of the city cultural symbol.Subway mural arts have broad prospects for development as an emerging public art, it is the city’s external window and business cards, and have become the indispensable art form to underground space environment. In the rapid development of Xi ’an subway construction, the subway mural arts as an important component of the subway space environment in every site construction, mural arts subway are required to be thoroughly and comprehensively studied in order to better improve its quality. This article firstly analysis the characteristics of underground space and the concept of subway mural arts, point out the necessity of the construction to the subway mural arts and discusse on the interdisciplinary of visual communications.Then focus on the language of visual communication in cited subway mural arts, make an analysis to the major cities of the subway mural arts language, summarize the instance and the subway mural arts design principles. Finally,take the mural works in Xi ’an subway line 1 and line 2 as examples, through the field investigation of the subway mural arts visual status and pictures that have been completed, the author tries to summe up the most suitable visual form for transmission of Xi’an subway mural arts, and calculate the best line of sight angle and optimumillumination and other specific data, as well as the solutions of deficiency currently are proposed. This article hopes to put forward the ideas to Xi ’an subway mural arts in the future that can be helpful for better development of xi ’an subway mural arts, make it to be not only conveying the history of xi ’an cultural charm, but also behalf the Xi ’an modern development process, fully showing the combination of history and modern visual feeling, and letting the public widely and effectively participate in it.
