Research On Regionality Of Subway Murals In Chinese Cities

The subway is the most convenient and efficient of all the city traffic tools at present. With people’s demand for the artistry of public space, the subway space is not only a simple traffic environment, but a public space to reflect the development level of a national political, economic, cultural and art. China is the biggest developing country, and the construction of subway space is in its critical time, which will inject the modern city with a new vitality. It has been the primary problem demanded to investigate that how to aviod the selfsame subway space among so many subway cities of our country in the future, when other countries are keen on moving their own artistic level to subway space.The subway mural is an important branch of the public art. It is different from general painting, but the appliance of the painting in the traffic public space. Is it the modern artist’s improvise or the combination of the theory and technology after careful consideration that the specific art form of expression in particular space? Is it improve the image of the city public works of art, or imprison people’s think for public works of art? Is it reflect the regional features or become the mediocre? Through the analysis of the theme, color, material and so on to the domestic and foreign famous mural subway, This paper tries to reveal the harmonize between the regional characteristics of the subway mural and the emotion of mural itself, and then create the artistic quality of little space and the unique charm of urban large space, which can make each city’s subway space with the same function have striking regional mark sex.Through to the nalysis and stigation of three kinds of subway mural that is to show natural geographical feature、abstract history culture symbols and propaganda city spirit connotation, we find the connection between the subway mural and the region shown mainly in three aspects, which are the echo between the subway mural and the public atmosphere, the show between the subway mural and the cultural temperament and the integration between the subway mural and the flavor of the times. We believe that only comprehensive these three factors, could the subway mural play a real role to light the subway space.
