Based on the theory of language transfer in interlanguage, the paper probes into Chinglish in Chinese-English interpretati on through analyzing in terpreting materials from the press conferences held by Chinese Prem iers from 2004 to 2014 during the NPC and CPPCC sessions.During the process of Chinese-English interpretation, language environments exert impact on Chinglish. In addition, the learners’ wrong choice of training materials and the neglect of Chinglish in evaluati on process also lead to the production of Chinglish in Chinese-English interpretati on. Moreover, Chinglish can be an obstacle for interpreter to convey source language’s accurate meaning to audience. Hereby, the paper analyzes and categorizes Chinglish into misplaced phrases and clauses, dangling modifiers and misuse of parallel structure, redundancy, etc. The paper also explores such possible solutions as shifting m odes of thinking during Chinese-English interpretation, enhancing aw areness of cultural factors and enhancing bilingu al and multilingual competence, etc.Chinglish is a phenom enon of fossilization in interlanguage. It occu rs due to linguistic transfer of Chinese and negativ e influence of Chinese m odes of thinking. The paper is to further explore the ca uses of Chinglish in Chinese-English interpretation at p ress conferences, offer possible solutions to Ching lish as well a s provide references and materials for Chinese-English interpretation learners.
