A large number of literati’s trip to the western regions led to a creation peaks of Western Regions Literature in the Qing Dynasty. Some of them left excellent Western Regions Poetries, Some of them left the precious west travel notes. Shi Shangchang is one of the literati,which both have poetries and travel notes of Serindia, while senior scholars rarely discussed in the existing research. His Writings of Serindia not only reflected Shi Shangchang’s four years’ life in the penal colony,and reflects the production of living conditions in Urumqi region.So the study on the Writings of Serindia of Shi Shang Chang is meaningful to research the exile’s life and the production of living conditions in Urumqi region in the period of Jia Qing.According to three parts divided, the first part comprehensively narrates the meaning, purpose, research status, research methods and ideas in this dissertation.The second part is the focus of this dissertation,the contents are mainly divided into three chapters.The first chapter discusses all Shi Shanchang’s life, political track and the time,when he set out to Serindia and return to Guangdong province to correct the errors in the existing research. At the same time, this part emphatically discusses the Shi Shangchang’s leisurely and comfortable life according to the communication with his friends and dignitaries. The Second chapter is the analysis of Shi Shangchang’s Western Regions Poetries. From the content and style of his poetries discuss his concept of poetic creation and the changes of the emotions in the penal colony. The third chapter is explores his travel notes named Lun Tai Za Ji.Mainly introduces its content, edition, and completion date,and discusses its unique literature value and deficiency in compared with other literature such as The Chorography of Urumqi and Hong Shan Sui Ye.The thired part is a appendix. It’s a basis collation of Lun Tai Za Ji and Dong Huan Ji Lue, given no researchers have yet engaged in this work,.
