The Modern Evolvement Of Xibe Ethnic Minoritygroup Influenced By Russian Culture In Xinjiang Province

In the Qing Dynasty, in order to consolidate the defense of northwest border, the Qing government, in 29 years of Qianlong, which is year 1764, deployed a number of Xibe people from Northeast China to station in Ili, Xinjiang province. From then on, Xibe ethnic minority group began to live in Northwest China and Northeast China separately. While fulfilling their mission of stationing, Xibe ethnic minority group began to exchange ideas and learn from each other with other ethnic groups in Xinjiang Province, which results in absorbing the outstanding cultural achievements of other ethnic groups, as well as inheriting their own ethnic traditions. Therefore, from the time of the longitudinal look, the same ethnic group in the same region will inevitably experience the change of culture, due to both its own development and the change of cultural environment.Using the theory and methods of history, ethnology and cultural studies, from both aspects of spiritual and material culture, this thesis conduct a relatively systematic discussion and analysis of the evolvement of Xibe ethnic minority group under the influence of Russian culture, after reviewing a large number of previous research. This thesis analyzes the vicissitude of Xibe ethnic culture, the performance and the impact in the process of the modernization of the Xibe ethnic minority group, analyzes the possible explanations of cultural changes, which includes living environment changes, propagations of different culture and ethnic cultural identity, and a more detailed summary is made.This thesis is divided into five parts. The first part is the introduction, including the previous research, the difficulties of studying the topic and the meaning of the topic.The second part elaborates the history of the movement to the Ili of Xibe ethnic minority group at first, which is the foundation of the research, and introduces the political system and social structure changes of Xibe ethnic minority groups under the rule of Mongolia, the Qing Dynasty, the Tsarist Russia and the Soviet Union sequentially.The third part briefly introduces the improvement of material conditions of life of Xibe ethnic minority group under the influence of Russian culture, from aspects of economy, clothing, food, medicine, sanitation, and living environment, respectively.The fourth part discusses the vicissitude of spiritual culture of Xibe ethnic minority group under the influence of Russian culture, from the three aspects of language, literature and art, and education.The fifth part reflects cultural changes, analyzes the causes, characteristics and roles played in the modernization process of Xibe ethnic minority group, and points out that the cultural evolvement of Xibe ethnic minority group is dominated by both internal and external factors.Conclusion, a summary of the whole thesis, points out that in the current multicultural environment, we should rationally learn and accept the advanced cultural achievements of others, so as to promote the progress and development of a nation.
