In recent years, with the development of Chinese national strength, tourism industry has risen and prevailed in the country. Revolutionary heritage tour, a new brand of tourism, has also attracted visitors from China and other countries. Revolutionary heritage tour, with its valuable revolutionary spirit, national spirit and patriotic spirit, has deeply appealed to foreign visitors. However, the quality of current translation is far from readers’ satisfaction. It has many problems which lead to foreign visitors’ misunderstanding and put Chinese cultural promotion abroad into disadvantage. Therefore, it is urgent to do further study of translation for revolutionary heritage tour.The thesis intends to analyze the translation for revolutionary heritage tour in Xuzhou Area from the perspective of communication theory. It has made a detailed exploration of each essential factor included in the process of translation: translator, target readers, information, noise, channel and feedback, etc. Based on translation errors of linguistic errors, pragmatic errors and cultural errors, this thesis puts forward three principles. On the basis of variation translation theory, the thesis concludes five specific translation strategies.Through analyzing, the conclusions can be summarized as follows: Communication theory can be regarded as an effective guidance for translation for revolutionary tourist texts from a macro perspective. After discussing the English texts of revolutionary tourist materials, the thesis finds out three kinds of translation errors: linguistic errors, pragmatic errors and cultural errors. In addition, the thesis puts forward five translation strategies from variation translation theory(literal translation, addition, deletion, edition and adaptation, and analogy) and four solutions to reach effective communication effects.In fact, there are limited studies on translation for revolutionary heritage tour. From the perspective of communication theory, this thesis has discussed some tourist translation problems and strategies, which is helpful for further translation studies. |
