Among all the Chinese writers in the twentieth century, Lu Xun is undoubtedly the most famous for his reputation and influence. Lu Xun was the founder of Chinese literature and the pioneer of Chinese modern academy. President Mao Zedong admired him as the major general of Chinese literature revolution. He was not only a man of letters, but the greatest revolutionary and thinker. Among all the profound novels that Lu Xun wrote, his works column "wondering where to go" drew great attention the first time it went to the world, enjoying an international fame. Cultural-loaded words constitute one of the most distinguishing features in his works. Due to the different cultural backgrounds, during the translation process, the translation of cultural-loaded words becomes the key factor. What deserves the translators to think twice is how to make the translation of works understood without losing the original meaning.Translation is an action based on original language.The key factor of the highest standard in translation process is purpose, which is advocated by scholars in translation field.It has been, for a long time, used as a standard by scholars to evaluate whether a translation is good or not, opening a brand new perspective for translation study.The Skopostheorie holds that the methods of translation depend on the purpose of translation. A good translator should not only make sure the meaning of his translation works loyal to original text, but succeed in feeding the expectation of targeted readers.Yang Hsien-yi and his wife Gladys Yang and William Lyell’s versions of translating Lu Xun’s works can be recognized as the most wonderful ones. The two versions make a great contribution in propagating Lu Xun’s works to western countries. They, from various perspectives, show the external charm of Lu Xun’s works, enjoying a wide awareness of readers.
