Study On The Folk Customs Said Of Textual Criticism In The Middle And Late Ming Dynasty

A textual criticism on the folk custom said in the middle and late Ming Dynasty reflects the development of social culture and the style changes. The achievements can be seen in the Yang Shen, Chen Yaowen, Hu Yinglin, Wang Shizhen, Xie Zhaozhe, Fang Yizhi and others’ works. They mainly use tracing and correcting, comparison and analogy, certificating customs said on the historical facts, pronunciation and meaning and other methods to research. Their opinions of the folk custom said contain believing and explaining, false to refute, limited affirmation and appreciation of literature and art view, and so on. The textual research on the folk custom said in the late Ming Dynasty have more fruitful and higher position than any time before. But the Ming Dynasty scholars do not clearly understand the characteristics of the customs said, so they can not reach the height of the study of modern people. As one of the textology of the Ming Dynasty the reason for rising of the folk customs said is not only the common reasons of both the Ming dynasty textology, but also has special factors of the folk customs said. As the content of the cultural secularization of Ming dynasty, the folk customs said reflects the later period of Ming dynasty cultural tendency of modernization.
