This essay will attempt to explore the problem of philia in Lysis. Through the meticulous organization of the Dialogues in Lysis, it aims to clarify several arguments, and interpret the Dialogues with contextual meaning in Lysis. On this basis, it tries to combine Lysis,Symposium and Nicomachean Ethics to perceive.This essay is divided into four parts, and explanations, respectively are as follows:1, Introduction section:This part focuses on Plato’ dialogues and some information related to Lysis. In the first section, the sequence, staging and authenticity issues of Platonic dialogues are briefly introduced and the significance of the topic is provided. Section Ⅱ describes the research status on Lysis and on the problem of philia as well as makes analysis and comments. Section III,states the assignment, structure and methodology. The essay adopts the method of text interpretation originating from the traditional interpretation of Strauss camp. The task of this essay is, based on the text restatement to give a philosophical analysis of philia.2, Chapter Ⅱ, Restatement text and interpretation of Lysis:This section is mainly to clarify the background and some issues in the text dialogue, such as lover and the beloved are friends; people who are similar mutually are friends; persons who are totally different are friends; someone who is neither good nor bad is a better friend. The first friend desires something that belongs to us.3, Chapter Ⅲ, Philosophical Analysis of Lysis:the section I tries to explore whether there is a conclusion in Lysis. Section Ⅱ attempts to analyze the problem of Eros and philia in Lysis and Symposium. Section Ⅲ makes a try to analyze differences and relations of philia in Lysis and Nicomachean Ethics.4, Conclusion section:this part states that philia in Lysis is actually the study of philosophy, namely, the love to wisdom. And shows the lack of philia in modern life.
