Reasonable Needs And Environmental Morality

In the face of serious crisis of global environmental decline, people hope to use environmental morality to adjust contradiction of human and nature. However, Consumerism and "To-have"lifestyle is very popular in modern society, it is difficult to change the existing survival values, environmental ethics tend to be limited to formal, and it is unable to penetrate people’s hearts and to guide people’s practice.Therefore if we want to chang people’s values and lifestyle, we must chang our needs structure at first. Because human needs is motivation of all the activities, Reasonable needs is included with the material needs, social and spiritual needs. It is rational and purposeful needs.The main performance of unreasonable needs is that people who live in modern society only pursue the material needs, it lead to social needs, spiritual needs is relatively scarce. People would rather sacrifice the natural environment in exchange for better satisfaction of material needs. It was conflict with environmental morality which save ecological crisis.In order to really pursue a meaningful life and effectively restore a healthy environment, We must chang our needs structure which is unreasonable. Environmental ethics can guide human needs to be rationalized. The change of needs structure will inevitably bring about the change of people’s way of production and living. People will truly follow the requirements of environmental morality from the heart consciously, and use specific norms of environmental morality to guide their practice. And create a good social atmosphere for the ecological civilization construction.
