This paper, based on Xing ShiYan, makes thoroughinvestigation and overall description to the comparative sentencesappearing in the book. According to the different standard of comparison,we divided it into hierarchical comparative sentences. Combined withqualitative and quantitative description, synchronic and diachroniccomparison, description and explanation, we analyses deeply eachsentence form’s structural features and semantic function, explore thecourse of evolutionary development of comparative sentences, summarizethe charater, regulation of comparative sentences in Xing ShiYan.The equal comparative sentences in Xing ShiYan are in greatquantity. According to the comparative words, it can divide into “ru””si”“others”“special” comparative sentences and so on.“ru” and “si”comparative sentences are plentiful.“others” mainly includes markers“ban”“ruo”“yang”“shi”“tong”.“special” sentence includes“discontinous” sentence、“megametaphoric” sentence and “mingled”sentence. We focus on the characteristics of “discontinous comparativesentence”. The differential comparative sentences in Xing Shiyan are inrich types and complicated. Based on semantics, it can divide into“shengguo”sentence,“negative”sentence,“question”sentence. About thecomparative marker,“shengguo”sentence mainly includes “yu”、“si” andverb “guo”、“sheng”.“negative” sentence includes “butong”、“buxia”、“buruo”. In the ancient and modern chinese comparative sentences, thecomparative sentences “bi” is more complicated, involving thegrammaticalization and basic formatting issues such as changes in wordorder. The basic form of sentence “bi” is “X比YW”.
