A Report On The Translation Of The Project Offered By Faurecia (China) Holding CO., LTD

With the opening of automotive industry, there is an increasing number of automotive joint ventures. The general files of automotive joint ventures include: confidentiality agreement, purchase agreement, validation plan and etc. With a wide range of subjects, the majority of the translation tasks are small-and-middle scale, which matters a lot to the bilateral or multilateral companies.This report is based on the English-Chinese translation of the four files of the Faurecia (China) Holding CO., LTD. This task is independently completed on my own. Through analyzing the reviewing the translation process as well as representative cases, the report has explored how to translate business documents in automotive industry and how to deal with small or middle size translation tasks.The report consists of four chapters. The first chapter is an introduction that presents the background, goal and significance of this report. The second chapter introduces a brief review of the preparations for the practical translation. With reference to the author’s practical translation, the third chapter analyzes the specific problems confronted in the process of translation, and inquires into the approaches to solve those problems from the perspectives of lexicon, syntax. And the last chapter summarizes the enlightenment, lessons and problems to be solved.As the report reveals, a translator should adopt proper methods in business files of automotive industries and try his best to achieve a balance between the goals and functions of translation and the interests and demands of client. It’s hoped that this report could offer some referential values for the other similar tasks.
