| With the globalization of the world economy and the increasing global exchange, there is a growing demand for Chinese-English as well as Chinese-French translation on the Chinese and international market. At the same time, the number of translators that are qualified for these translations is also growing. This thesis focuses on texts that need both Chinese-English and Chinese-French translation or those Chinese-French translations but already has English versions, if the use of free online translation websites such as Google translation can help translators by translating English to French, then translators can correct this version to meet the standard of high quality translation.This thesis chose Google translation to help translator translate from Chinese to French the Report on Government Work of Hubei Province, or from English to French to be more accurate. It chose the first two paragraphs as an experiment and analyzed the mistakes more thoroughly, then used the same method and analyzed the generalization of the whole text to reach an all-conclusive result. The conclusion is that Google translation can effectively help translators get high quality Chinese-French translation and in this way, save considerable time. |
