Languages, the carriers of culture, are the main form of culture and the way of communications of that.So language elements in different nations embody variously cultural connotation, especially in the aspectof words. Moreover, for Chinese and Kazakh, there are some differences in under tan ding and expressingthe similar things and concepts due to the diverse history, values, customs, social institution, mode ofthinking, and life styles.And this kind of divergence may be expressed respectively in the languages.As a pervasive semantic phenomenon, polysemous words appear in several of languages. Polysemantsis a special part of the languages, for that contains cultural factors, including profound and abundantnational psychology, concept of value, emotional coloring and so on.The essay will make access to the different phenomenon and cultural features of polysemants inChinese and Kazakh by comparative analysis basing on the cultural linguistics and contrastive linguistics.And it is hoped that learners can know and understand polysemous words clearly as a way of comparingand studying two different language families.This article is based on the theory of contrastive linguistics and cultural linguistics, literature,comparative study method. Will be dominated by traditional means, supplemented by computer networks,acomprehensive collection of Chinese and Kazakh vocabulary data, especially information about polysemy.“Comparative analysis” and “describe and explain the method of combining a comparative study ofpolysemy in the two language in the full grasp of the vocabulary of two language polysemy research.We learn in the process of the two language, through the comparison of Chinese and Kazakhpolysemy, we can understand the different national psychology and cultural backgrounds, to help learnersbetter way of thinking to complete language learning conversion, better able and more complete expressionof the idea of the language itself.
