Report On Chinese Translation Of "the Summons Of The North"

In this report, the author selected the story “The Summons of the North” in thebook Mothers of the North to make an English-Chinese translation practice. Mothers ofthe North shows the deep love of animals’ towards their children. Charles Robertsdepicts for us a world that is full of feelings, value and meanings of life in animalworld. Consequently, this book moves us and lets us ponder over it. This reportconsists of four parts. That is, an introduction to the translation task, the translationprocedure, case studies, and conclusion. An introduction to the translation task refersto a description of the translation task. The translation procedure part is the descriptionof the analysis and preparation before translating, including translation implementationand case analysis, the latter part being mainly involved with the discussion of theproblems encountered in the translation process, under the guidance of sometranslation theories and approaches.
