Report On Chinese Translation Of Women And Leadership Positions: Social And Cultural Barriers To Success

This translation report is based on the academic paper Women and LeadershipPositions: Social and Cultural Barriers to Success.The report introduces the translating process, gains during translation, and theproblems when dealing with the paper. There are two main purposes of this report. Thefirst is to discuss the workflows of small and medium-sized translation tasks in order toprovide guidance for similar tasks in future. The second is to sum up the strategies ofthe paper translation by analyzing the features of language in papers.This report describes the translation arrangements of the academic paper I havetranslated. It analizes the purpose and the significance of the task. The translatingprocess involves three steps, including preparation, translating and post-processing.The case study, another important part of this report, gives examples and illustrated theproblems including terms, author and country names, and the corresponding solutionssuch as referring to authoritative dictionaries. In terms of the language features inacademic papers, this report discusses the translation strategies and skills such asconversion, adding or omitting and adjustment with examples. In conclusion part, itsums up the gains in translating process in order to provide guidance for future work.
