Material Analysis Of Jingdezhen Nanhe River Five Dynasties Celadon

Jingdezhen is one of the most important porcelain production base both in China and around the world. Ceramics industry in Jingdezhen mainly distributes in the following four region:urban, Nanhe river, little Nanhe river and east river basin.With the archaeology industry achieve high attention in recent years, more and more the kiln sites have begun to rise to the surface, the main distribution of these kiln mostly belong to the Nanhe river.Nanhe river is the advanced representative in major kilns in Jingdezhen, which possess not only large-scale production,but also fine quality products.It win the reputation in the world by its originality greenish white porcelain,which is green as the day, as white as jade, thin as paper, sound like Qing.In this paper, we started with a brief overview of Jingdezhen south river basin and celadon, then combined with the literature data and studied different celadon samples of five generations kiln site unearthed from Jingdezhen south river basin by process performance testing of Jingdezhen five generations celadon raw material, which from the researching point of Jingdezhen five generations celadon technology development history. The characteristics of different kiln in Nanhe river five dynasties celadon was analysis by a variety of analytical testing methods, such as energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence (EDXRF), X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermal expansion instrument.The raw materials selection and process performance evolution of samples from Nanhe river five dynasties celadon were preliminary studied.the similarities and differences between the Nanhe river kiln was researched deeply by analysis the selection of raw materials, the washing process and the molding mechanism in contact with the type.The amount of Al2O3and SiO2in five celadon from Nanhe river are16%～18%and72%-76%through the analysis of sample in each kiln body belong Nanhe river.It is a kind of low-silicon high-aluminum porcelain,which reflect the characteristics of porcelain body in south china.It can be conclude that the material comes from Nangang mining area and red clay was doped into the material by the character-show mineral composition analysis of samples in Nanhe river. It can be seen that the selected raw materials of the pot-type clay minerals significantly lower than the bowl-type bowls molded by type classification.The setting process of bowl is probably mature during the Five Dynasties to the Song Dynasty ripe.The content of K2O in glaze is concentrated within2%～3%, this indicates raw material with high K2O was introduced in the Five Dynastries, then the amount of lime was reduced, and lime soda glaze was made.
