In the 1980 s, after communication with the western culture, geography and cultural geography of China gradually revival. Mountain and Sea Classics, The Historical Records: Biographies of Merchants, Han Shu: Geographia and other geographic works draw the outline of a true picture of the regional cultural characteristics from mountains and rivers, regions, local products, customs, history, etc. It is worth mentioning that Shui Jing Zhu is also an important book that researches ancient Chinese cultural geography.
