The period known as Wei Jin Southern and Northern dynasties is a significant time of change for Middle Chinese to Modern C hinese and a transition period develop ment in adpositions. Shui Jin Zhu written by Lidaoyuan is a very important geographical in that period. This paper investigates the semantic syntactic function of adposition from Shui Jin Zhu to by using qualitative analysis method. This article is divided into four parts:First chapter is the introduction to summarizes the research status about adposition in ancient, especially wei jin southern and northern dynasties. Meanwhile, makes an overview of the grammar research about Shui Jin Zhu and the relative issues of our research. The second chapter summed up the three keys, which are syntactic structure and semantic bleaching and function transformation to distinguish the adpositions and verbs by previous studies of grammaticalization theory and semantic mechanism. According to adposition classification standard to determine the members of the monosyllabic adpositions system in Shui Jin Zhu. They are following distribution characteristics of adpositions in the three semantic domain in the period of pre-Qin, which spatio-temporal is the most abundant, followed by relational concepts and core meaning. Third chapter divided monosyllabic adpositions into three types: spatio-temporal, relational concepts and core meaning by semantic category of adpositional object, and analyzes the semantic grammatical function of them. In the fourth chapter, according to syntactic position of polyphony words, polyphony adposition vocabulary can be divided into five types: v + adp, adp+conj, adp +pron, pron+adp and adj/adv+ adp, including participatory adpositions Yi Yu Yin Cong are relatively common. Meanwhile, analyzes the influencing factors of lexicalization is a trend of dual tone, degree of preposition grammatical, syntactic, semantic metaphor or metonymy, use frequency, pronouns, etc.
