Research On Nietzsche’s Body Aesthetics

As we all know,since Plato created the first consciousness philosophy, it had occupied the absolute dominance in quite a long time. The consciousness aesthetics what was on the basis of that formation thought that the aesthetic was just a conscious activity, which wasn’t about body and ruled out the desire.The body came out from the consciousness in the 19th century when Schopenhauer and Nietzsche appeared.As you know, Nietzsche opposed the priority theory of consciousness clearly.And the emphasis of Nietzsche’s philosophy was on the body as well as the perceptual life in his whole life.Nietzsche argued that body which was not only the physical body, but also the body of the will to power"was the existence of the real.Nietzsche’s body aesthetics included superman thought,eternal recurrence, the morality, the arts, etc.This article main content is divided into four chapters:The first chapter can be divided into two sections,the one is written from Nietzsche’s own such as his physical condition and his interests;the other one is written from the social background at that time and the traditional concept of the body.Through these two aspects,we can explore the origin of Nietzsche’s body aesthetics.The second chapter elaborates the connotation of Nietzsche’s body aesthetics.Firstly,we need to clear the concept of body in Nietzsche’s body aesthetics which is both the physical body and the body of "the will to power".Secondly,on one hand,we can have an analysis of superman thought and eternal recurrence on the front view, and one the other hand,we need point out the relationship between the body and the morality that the morality betrayed the body in order to believe in the body.In the final analysis of the relationship between the body and arts,we can get the methods of the rescue of the body.In the third chapter, through the comparison and analysis of three person’s thought about the body,Richard Rorty,Michel Foucault and Richard Shusterman,we will know the development of the contemporary body aesthetics as well as the origin with Nietzsche’s body aesthetics.The fourth chapter expounds the influence of Nietzsche’s body aesthetics on western philosophy and Chinese ideological circle briefly, then points out the positive meaning of studying Nietzsche’s body aesthetics.
