Intervention In Psychological Capital Appreciation Of College Students: Using Naikan Therapy

Abstract/Summary:
Object: The study aims to analyze the effect of daily Naikan therapy on the Psychological Capital Appreciation(PCA) of college students, so as to reveal the mechanism of action of daily Naikan therapy on the college student’s PCA and construct a dynamic experiencing model of daily Naikan therapy for the college student’s PCA.Method: Fifteen college students attended the intervention of daily Naikan therapy. “Interpersonal relationships assessment scale” and “PPQ” were used to evaluate the status of the experimental group before and after the intervention. Then, SPSS17.0 software package was used to summarize and analyze the intervention effect based on the collected data. In-depth interview and individual object analysis were used to collect the original data of the participant of daily Naikan therapy. The coding idea based on grounded theory and QSR Nvivo7.0 analysis software were used in the data analysis in order to construct a pre-therapy model, under-therapy model, after therapy model and dynamic experience model for daily Naikan therapy of college students’ Psychological Capital Appreciation.Result:(1) Participants who attended the daily Naikan therapy had different performance at three different stages, before the therapy, under the therapy and after the therapy. The daily Naikan therapy could evoke the participant’s new model in cognitions, affections and actions, Moreover, the emotional experience in daily Naikan therapy is an important influential factor.(2) The score of the experimental group before and after the daily Naikan therapy in the “interpersonal relationships assessment scale” and “PPQ” were different.Conclusion:(1) The intervention study has achieved great success in improving the interpersonal relationship among college students.(2) This intervention study has significant effect on the improvement of college students’ Psychological Capital Appreciation.(3) The improvement of college students’ interpersonal relationship could effectively improve their Psychological Capital Appreciation. It is effective and feasible to improve and increase the Psychological Capital Appreciation of college students through distributed introspective therapy.From the perspective of psychological intervention, the author discussed the effect of daily Naikan therapy on college students’ psychological capital appreciation. This study not only enriched the domestic study of Psychological Capital Appreciation, but also provided inspirations and suggestions for the mental health education and occupational guidance work in colleges.
