Chan Zhen Yi Shi is a novel of the late Ming Dynasty. The author is Fang Ruhao. It has wide-ranging subjects and makes up of plentiful vocabulary. The novel parlance is common, lively and highly colloquial. Once banned, the value of the language haven’t been found. Combining with relevant theory, this paper studies lots of characteristic words from synchronic and diachronic angles, which are analyzed quantitatively and described statically. Only hope to benefit modern vocabulary investigations.The paper has five chapters. The first chapter mainly introduces this paper’s research origin and Chan Zhen Yi Shi’s auther and version, while analyzing the research situation and value of this subject. The second chapter mainly analyzes Chan Zhen Yi Shi’s lexicl features, that is the vocabulary containing literary language and colloquial language. At the same time, it collects and paraphrases the dialect words, nicknames, oaths, common sayings and so on. Using Hanyudacidian as a guide, the third chapter sorts out and explains the new words and new meanings in the text. The fourth chapter studies the feature of reduplication words in the way of static description. The fifth chapter describes all the inverse morpheme words. These words are divided into two kinds, which one is both BA type and AB type used, and the other one appears only one type, and analyzed from the point of part-of-speech, structure and meaning.
