There are many kinds of painting language. And “DOT” as one of them, although it i s not the first to appear in the picture, but it plays a key role in the painting. It also makes us to th ink and study the art of Chinese painting. "Dot" is everywhere in those works by famous artists. Those famous calligraphers and painters, in all ages, have paid attention and study to “DOT”, suc h as Dong Yuan Ju Ran of Southern Song Dynasty, Fan Kuan of Northern Song Dynasty, Wang Me ng of Yuan Dy-nasty, and Gong Xian & Shi Tao of Qing dynasty.Mr Huang Hong Bin, Chinese Pa inting artist of modern times. In his works, “DOT” has an important position and expression. He, constantly,creates something new and breaks loose from tradition. From his own understanding to paintings and calligraphy and getting the essence of the ancients, he creates a new calligraphy & painting language and spirits.This essay main to study the using techniques of “DOT” and spirit s showed in Mr Huang’s works. We will analyse Mr Huang’s techniques and spirits by compared his works with Gong Xian, Ba Da Shan Ren and Shi Tao.In the end, we will list out modern time s influence artists in Calligraphy & Painting. Such as Long Rui, Chen Ping and Li Ruo Xiao who i nherit and use Mr Huang’s techniques of “DOT”In this essay, we will summarize 3 kind of traits and spirits in Mr Huang’s works. It plays important role for improving my skills in Calligraphy & Painting to study Mr Huang’s “DOT” techniques.
