With the rapid development of economic society and improvement of people’s living standard, the proportion of cultural consumption in people’s consumption structure is increasing. Cultural consumption has become an important symbol of reflecting a country, a region’s economic development level, social progress and residents’ comprehensive quality. Either the macro level from a country, or the micro level from the consumers, promoting the development of cultural consumption has become a social focus.On the basis of comprehensive analysis of current research achievements at home and abroad about cultural consumption, and on the basis of questionnaire statistical data, this article looks at empirical investigation of cultural consumption in Alashan, analyzing the cultural consumption status of urban residents in Alashan, the problems and the root of the causes of these problems, and putting forward the policies and suggestions of promoting the development of cultural consumption of urban residents’ in Alashan. This paper consists of four parts:the first part outlines cultural industry and cultural consumption in Alashan mainly from the macro perspective, and overviews the general situation of the sample which is an important basis in this paper. The second part is mainly on the basis of questionnaire statistical data and visit information, evaluating residents’cultural consumption from three dimensions:the level of consumption, consumption structure and consumption satisfaction, to provide reliable support for the following research. The third part objectively analyzes the problems existing in the residents’ culture consumption, mainly from two aspects:cultural consumption subject and cultural consumption object, and discusses its influence factors. The fourth part is mainly aimed at the problems existing in the current cultural consumption, putting forward the countermeasures on how to improve the quality of cultural consumption and guiding the scientific cultural consumption from residents, government and market three aspects.
