| With the rapid development of modern technology in the 21st century, human beings have entirely entered into the Internet age. Information dissemination has diversified. News media career has developed unprecedentedly. Among them, video news is the most representative one. Western interview entertainment news is popular among people all over the world, with the characteristic of strong colloquialism, vividness and intuitiveness, fast spread and transient. A study is made in this practice report to explore the different language characteristics and cultural connotations between Chinese and English in this kind of news.This practice report will be based on Nida’s functional equivalence theory, combined with the English-Chinese news translation example of APTN. The author will analyze the features of interview entertainment news of APTN, the author will explore some translation methods of some cases. The author will also talk about the experience in this translation task. The author hopes this practice report can provide a reference for the news English translators in the future.This practice report can be divided into six parts. The first part is introduction. The second part is the introduction and analysis of the translation task. The third part is the translation process. The fourth part is the translation action. The author will summarize the translation skills and application of interview entertainment television news and the processing of translation text. The fifth part is the translation strategy of interview entertainment television news.
