This translation report, based on12ABC interviews for people translated by the author,is an introduction, research, and summarization of the translation process and translationresults. These interviews involve extensive contents: pioneers in science and technology field,social characters, politicians, entertainment stars, and common people, etc. The language usedin the interviews for people has distinctive features. It is not only as timely and effective asnews report, but also has strong readability. So it has its typical representativeness. Thistranslation report introduces problems the translator has confronted in the translation processand their corresponding solutions according to Skopos theory. Therefore, the report focuses onhow to make the translation version readable and acceptable.The report is divided into five chapters. Chapter one is a brief introduction to the report.Chapter two describes the translation task. Chapter three includes the preparation beforetranslation,the choice of translation skills and the schedule of the translation task. As thecore of this translation report, chapter four, the part of translation case study includes fourparts of specific introduction with the materials of ABC interviews for people. In Part One,the translator analyzes the translation methods of headlines. In Part Two, the translator givesan introduction to the translation methods of words, conducting case study of proper nouns,profession nouns,“said” in the direct quotation and words with special connotation in specialcontext. In Part Three, the translation of sentences is the principal concern of the translator inwhich the top priority is to adopt various translation techniques in the translation of longsentences. In Part Four, the translator focuses on the translation of punctuations includingdashes and periods. Chapter Five is the summarization of translation practice and the authorputs forward the problems in translation practice, relative thoughts, as well as inspiration andprospects in future study.
