A Translation Project Report Of Communicating At Work:Principles And Practices For Business And The Professions (Chapter V) Based On The Translator’s Subjectivity

This is a translation project report on Communicating at Work:Principles and Practices for Business and the Professions (Chapter V——Making Effective Presentations), written by Ronald B. Adler and Jeanne Marquardt Elmhorst. The author has translated the fifth chapter of this book based on the translator’s subjectivity.Nowadays, the translator’s subjectivity has been widely applied to various types of translation studies, but there are few studies in the filed of business communication. This report will focus on the translation methods of the vocabularies and sentences by analyzing the translation cases from this source text. I hope that my report can offer some suggestions in this kind of translation.This report consists of five parts. Part one is an introduction which includes the background, the purpose and the significance of the translation project. Part two introduces the basic theory of the translation project and the authors, the main content and the linguistic characteristics of the source text. Part three illustrates the methods and the skills used in this translation project with examples. Part four is a summary about my experiences and lessons in the translation as well as some problems of this report. Part five is a conclusion of the whole report.
