Text Interpretation Of Zhang Yiqing’s Documentary "Kindergarten"

Since the 90s, with the influence of western documentary concept, new digital media technology, and the rise of mass media, China documentary industry has become more popularized, diversified, commercialized, and globalized. As a typical documentary director in this period of time, Zhang Yiqing’s works show distinctive characteristics. Taking "Kindergarten" as an example, This article used literature research, close reading, and comparative analysis to look into the content and characteristics of Zhang Yiqing’s past works.Furthermore, this article analyzes the internal structure and content of Kindergarten from the perspectives of audiovisual linguistics,aesthetics, narratology, etc. At last, we discuss the reason behind the production in consideration of society background at that time, significant event in China documentary development, and director’s personal understanding.
