Comparing the similarities and the differences between English and Chinese Double-Object-Sentence structures, the present author focuses on the translation strategies of English-Chinese Double-Object-Sentence from the perspective of equivalence theory. Based on respective characteristics of English Double-Object-Sentence, the present author proposes that semantic equivalence be achieved by the application of two strategies, that is, indirect object ahead of direct object and lexical conversion. Accordingly, the author also uses four methods in the translation process--sequential translation, inversion, splitting-up, and order adjustments. |
