| Gabirel Urbain Faure is the most important composer in the nineteenth Century, with the most notable achievements in art songs. His art songs had rigorous structure, delicate emotions, short and exquisite, the music always soft and beautiful, which reflected the French who always elegant and noble, just for them. Through the study, the lyrics of Faure’s art songs were all from the three schools of poetry:Romantic(represented by Victor Hugo),Panasse(represented by Armand Silvestre)and Symbolic(represented by Paul Verlaine),this three schools of poetry had important influence in the literary world of France at that time. Influenced by the schools of French literature, Faure’s art songs have appeared in different styles. This paper put the point on different schools of poetry, according to the background of the poetry in French literary and research the situation of poet, chose three representative songs to analysis with music professional way, in order to find the characteristic and the change in those Faure’s art songs. This paper can make the reader know more about the artistry of Faure’s art songs, at the same time, understand more of the literariness. It can not only make the reader study Faure’s art songs from many faces, but also improve the learning and teaching level in the future. At the same time, it can make the readers have a preliminary experience and understanding in the development of French music and literature at that time.Faure’s art songs had a very important position in France, his works inherited the tradition of classical music, carry forward the romantic creation and promote the appearance of French impressionism music.
