French art songs have obvious national characteristics in musical style,elegant and exquisite.Throughout the history of French music from the second half of the 19 th century to the beginning of the 20 th century,the art songs of Composers Gabriel Urbain Fauré and Claude Debussy are the most representative,both of their creative techniques have French traditional nationality,but there are great differences in creative techniques and style.Gabriel Urbain Fauré and Claude Debussy both chose Paul Verlaine’s poem "In the dark" as their music.Verlaine was a representative of French symbolic poetry,which was opposed to straightforward narration and valued metaphor and metaphor,using indirect,implicit expression to create a hazy poetic mood.This is the same Gabriel Urbain Fauré,Claude Debussy’s approach to music.Through the analysis of two works with the same words and different songs,this paper analyzes the similarities and differences of the two composers’ creation techniques and music styles from the poetic noumenon to the fusion of poetry and music and the comparative study of music features.This paper further causes the author to think about the singing of the two art songs,and probes into and analyzes the application of breath,the cooperation with the piano,the requirements of articulation and the expression of timbre,hoping to accurately interpret the two works,it also provides theoretical support for the performance of other French art songs,which is helpful for the singer to grasp the style of the works. |
