A Comparative Study On The Classifiers Of Chinese And Zhuang Language

Zhuang language and Chinese belong to Sino-Tibetan, so they both have a large number of classifiers. In addition, because of a long history of frequently contract between the two nations, the two languages would interact inevitably for each other in the course,so they have much in common in classifiers. On the other hand, there are also a lot difference between the two language’s classifiers for Zhuang language and Chinese are totally different languages. Classifiers was concerned by linguistic circle for a long tine because the origin and evolution, category, semantic function and grammatical features of it are very complicated.Till now, quite a lot of research works on classifiers of Chinese have been done, and many research results have been achieved. However, the study on classifiers of Zhuang language began very late, and it still remains in initial stage.The Comparative Study on the classifiers of the two languages is so rare. This thesis is composed by three parts:introduction, text and epilogue. And it uses comprehensive application of advanced theory and method, to make systematic and all-around comparison between the classifiers between the two languages, which can make up for gaps in area of classifiers. In chapter one, made some summarization, redefinition and comparison about the classification of the classifiers in two languages; In chapter two, explored how and why the classifiers of the two languages produce. In chapter three, made a detailed description and comparison about the classifiers of the two;Italso made a systematic contrast about the grammatical features of the classifiers in Chinese and Zhuang languages based on morphology,syntax and some special syntax function in chapter four.
