The Chinese comparative sentence is a special kind of sentence in modern Chinese language and it is an important part in Chinese grammar that is difficult for foreign students learning Chinese. When Indian students use the comparative sentence, mistakes are often made. In order for Indian students to grasp and use Chinese comparative sentences correctly and in order to improve the teaching of these sentences, this dissertation will analyze all kinds of errors made by Indian students and their underlying cause while using the three kinds of comparative sentences. The analysis will be based on the existing research results of ontology and second language teaching and the method of the error analysis theory according to the contrastive analysis of grammatical features in Chinese language and Indian language.This dissertation is divided into six parts. The first chapter mainly explains the reason why the subject was selected, the significance of the topic and gives a summary of the research results of Chinese comparative sentences and an error analysis of the related Theory. The second chapter briefly compares comparative sentences in the Hindi and Chinese languages, the sentence structure and the grammatical characteristics in order to analyze the corpus that was collected by means of the questionnaire. The third chapter briefly introduced the relevant information from the questionnaire.The fourth chapter analyzes the errors that Indian students make with regards to comparative sentences and the reason for those errors according to the corpus collected by means of the questionnaire.The fifth chapter puts forward the teaching countermeasures of Chinese comparative sentences for Indian students taking into account the teachers, the teaching material and the teaching method. The sixth chapter provides a summary of the present dissertation.
