| China is an ancient country with a long history. Chinese food is also becoming a significant part. The hard-working Chinese discovered plenty of diet to satisfy ourselves. With the development and openning up, more and more foreigners began to attach importance to Chinese food. In this case, interpretation of Chinese dishes is becoming so important. Language cannot exsit without culture, so the interpretation of dish names is not only the single exchange for languages, but also the transmission of Chinese culture. To interpret dish names well can influence the profit directly.This practical interpretation report is about the interpretation of Chinese cuisine which divided into four chapters. Chapter One is the task description, including background, the reasons for selecting and characteristics of the task. Chapter Two is process description, which includes the preparation before interpretation, task duration, quality control and assessment. Chapter Three is the case study, containing cross-cultural communication theory, language and culture characteristics of Chinese cuisine names, interpretation strategy for Chinese cuisine, misunderstanding of Chinese-English dish interpretation and cultivation of cross-cultural communication awareness in interpretation. Chapter Four is the conclusion of this practical interpreting report. |
