The translation material is the second chapter of Uncovering Hidden Rhetorics: Social Issues in Disguise by Barry Brummett. This chapter describes the homology of media portrayals of little people and African Americans, and both of the two groups are marginalized groups in America. The homology between little people and African Americans indicates that discursive mechanisms of Othering may work to marginalize various groups of people. The translation report mainly consists of four parts. The first part is a brief description of the translation about the material source, the author and his work; the second is a comprehensive description of translation process including preparation for translation, difficulties in the process of translation, and text check, polish and finalization; the third is a detailed analysis of translation cases, selected in the translation text at four levels of lexical terms, syntax, discourse and culture; the last is a meticulous retrospect and summary of translation thought process as well as a summary of translation experience to guide the future translation.
