This thesis is a translation project report. The source text of my translation is the abstract, chapter 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, and 10 of Fear, Greed, and Financial Crises: A Cognitive Neurosciences Perspective, included in Handbook on Systemic Risk which was published by Cambridge University Press in 2013. The source text analyzes the influences of brains on human behaviors in financial investment operation from the cognitive neurosciences perspective. It provides new insights for studying and discussing the cause of financial crises, and it also offers recommendations and directions for policymakers and regulators to think about and solve the problems. In terms of the theoretical framework of my translation project, I adopt Hans Vermeer’s Skopos Theory, and its core idea is that the prime principle determining any translation process is the purpose(Skopos) of the overall translational action. Based on a full understanding of the source text’s style characteristics, I strive to objectively restore the various theories, viewpoints and objective facts elucidated in the source text, and offer unimpeded reading experiences to our readers, hoping to provide reference for the readers.
