This is a translation project report on two chapters of Global Bank Regulation: Principles and Polices, Chapter 11 and Chapter 12. In these two Chapters, the writer points out banks should be limited in taking the risks, and should be supervised to ensure their healthy development, which requires consolidated supervisions on large banks especially financial conglomerates.Functional equivalence is the guiding principle of this translation project. The theory thinks that the translation should use the most proper, natural and equivalent language to reappear the information of source text from its meaning to its literary form. It requires the translator to conform to the idea that “the content is more important than the form”. It tries to improve the functional equivalence between the source text and the target text, and to convey its cultural content as far as possible. The translation report is divided into four parts: the first part is to introduce the background, the meaning and the demand analysis of the project; the second part is to analyze the main idea, language characteristics and the translation theory of the target text; combining the relevant translation theory, the third part is to state the translation difficulties and translation functions; and the forth part is to make a conclusion to summarize experience and deficiencies of the translation project.
