In the period of contemporary Chinese literary creation, Su Tong is a writer who is absolutely cannot be overlooked. Not only his novel production and its varied writing style, but also those characters to be loved or hated both are causing a lot of commentators attention.On the basis of reading the text, the author find that although Su unearths the inner world of men and women, his ultimate concern is the "body" instinct reaction when faced with the reality of the context.Su Tong builds a body anxiety and body instinct centered world. The body’s natural attribute determines its various desires, and it is still the one that has not been completely rational, even to suffer a variety of disciplines. It is also because of this, the story about the humanity brings out different poses and different expressions. Based on the reading of Su tong’s published novels and related materials, combining research papers. this essay takes "body" as an entry point, discussing the body writing in Su tong’s novel.The essay is divided into three parts, the first chapter mainly combs the Chinese and foreign main theories related to the body, and especially makes a brief literature review to the development of "body" in Chinese literature, and refines some viewpoint of China’s new period theory about "body" and discusses the necessity of understanding of "body" from a macro perspective. The second chapter is divided into five sections. Combined with the creation of specific text and relevant academic theory of Su Tong’s works,this chapter summarizes five typical body types and analyzes why the author writes such a body and then explains the dilemma of the body itself, especially the body subjected to physical and cultural double trouble, which makes the body have to face an embarrassing trap. The third chapter is about the creation of Su Tong. This part discussed the unique part of the "body". Through these seemingly broken body, the author tells her understanding of the humanity, tragedy and suffering. Su Tong shows self questioning of human tragedy.From his creation,we concludes that the origin of the tragedy may is the result of the body instinct. We should confront of this instinct requirements without excessive depression and discipline, otherwise the body will become deformed and ugly. In Su Tong’s creation, we can feel that although the body has suffered a variety of disciplines, it is still in pursuit, perhaps this is the secret of that why the characters is brightness and the humanity is so charming.
