Research On The Value Of University Language Curriculum

University language curriculum is the important means and way of mother tongue education in universities. It is valuable to university students and the whole community. However, the realization of the value of university language curriculum has problems. In order to make university language curriculum out of the woods, and realize its value, proposing the strategy is very necessary. Specifically, this paper consists of the following parts:The first part is the outline of the value of university language curriculum. The value of university language curriculum is to the development of university students and the whole community. The reason of university language curriculum enduring is the important value.The second part is the existing form of the value. University language curriculum can improve students’language literacy, thinking ability and quality of humanities. Its social value contains political value, economic value, cultural value and ecological value.The third part is the plight of realization of value of university language curriculum. Through the observation and study, the author found that there are three problems. They are:the utilitarian tendency of language education; the environment of university language curriculum; the problems of university language curriculum.The forth part is the way to achieve value of university language curriculum. The author presented three aspects. Language education should start from childhood; improving the environment for survival and development of university language curriculum; internal reform of university language curriculum.
