| This thesis according to research the change of spirit of the Zhej iang provincial first normal school, and their replyment of the May 4t h Movement with the encouragment of new trend of thought before or af ter the May 4th Movement. Thus, I will take that school as an instenc e, Research the local operation of May 4th Movement from the micro pe rspective, and give a new interpretation about tradition and modern, Ea se culture and West chuture, left wing and right wing in the movement, and describe the condition of every kinds of thoughts intertwined in local intellectuals.In first chapter,I will take Yang Xianjiang as an example, and comp are Yang’s learning experience and life course with Qianmu and Yun Da iying, to research the school’e spirit and its student’s thought. Yang’ s family circumstances was good, after he study in the normal school, he got congusion because he had Strong desire for knowledge but have no idea about what should study. Finally, he pick up the Zhuzi, wcich cr eat the condition for his joining in the communist movement.The next chapter despict the big changes of profecessers and studen ts spiritual world and their social activities. With Jing Hengyi’s ref orment--who is influenced deeply by the May 4th--the spirit of school became more instence--which was dispirite once. However, this intension connected with the atmosphere of anti-tradition,as a result, a local May 4th Movement happened in Hangzhou. The chapter2 describe how Shan Buan’s student became from old type student to new youth. The chapter 3 describe some student movements and their autonomous movement, and their connection with Beijing and Shanghai. The chapter 4 describe poe trys in the normal school. Even thought students were stimulated by th e movement, the live was normal again, they were annoied about lost the ir value, so they had to drown their annoyment in poem, which not only had no effect,but also increased their nihility feeling about life. |
