| With the coming of information era, news plays a major role in this process of dissemination of information, from which we can learn about the latest events in the world. As an important part of news types, news commentary has got increasing concern and attention from academia agency and scientific research with its informational and commentary features.The present author extracts news with the rich and varied information and content related to The Times about G20 summit in Australia Brisbane 2014. Based on the present author’s endeavor in translating news, the thesis defines that the source text is an informative one and the major corresponding strategy applied in translating the English version is that of the communicative translation based on the analysis of text types and linguistic features of the text. Under the macro guidance of communicative translation, the author exemplifies and probes into the tactics applied in translating words and long sentences from the micro perspective. In the end, a summary is offered of the gains and deficiencies from the translation. |
