China and Vietnam are neighbors separated only by a strip of water, which both are located in the Pacific west bank, has a long coastline. Marine factors play parts in the evolution of civilization in the history of China and Vietnam. People began to live in the coastal areas of the two countries since long time before, ocean for the residents of the coastal areas provides a rich material life. The two coastal residents mainly engaged in production activities, Marine and closely related to sea.In navigation technology is not developed in ancient times, and changeable sea weather and complicated marine environment to coastal residents of the two countries the risk of marine production caused a lot of difficult to overcome, the two countries instinctively to create a variety of sea, coastal residents want the triton’s blessing, formed a variety of sea legends and beliefs, created a rich ocean culture.
