| With the development of the society, there are more and more communication and exchanges between China and the world. In order to realize the effective communication and understanding among the countries, news translation plays a more-and-more- important role in society development. Evening news is more representative in information delivery, because of its timely, concise and comprehensive characteristics. With rich contents, the style of evening news is lively. While a good translation of evening news can give readers a bet ter understanding of information, the characteristics of the news pose certain difficulties to translators. To translate properly, we must adopt effective translation methods and techniques.This report is based on the C-E translation of Yangtze Evening News(Excerpt). The number of the words translated is about 10023. The translated content involves rich information, covering education, life, sports, etc. which ful y mirrors the society.The report reveals that the purpose and function of translation help translators choose the right principles and strategies, which are, in turn, expressed by appropriate translation techniques and language throughout the texts translated. Also revealed in the report is that, in order to do a good job in news translation, translators should not only make adequate preparation, but also analyze problems in the process of translation to come up with corresponding solutions. |
