Literature Weekly And Literature Research Association

Literature Weekly is the official journal of the Literature Research Association. It helped its members to guide the direction of new literature after the "New Youth" abandoned their original dreams. At the same time, its occurrence and development were connected with the community behind it. It served both as a literature garden and a fighting zone. As an independent publication, Literature Weekly, in turn, had a positive influence on the Literature Research Association. It served as a link to get its members together and a hotbed to cultivate new writers. So we can say it promoted the development of new literature objectively.Except the introduction and conclusion, this paper is divided into four parts.The first chapter mainly talks about the production and the rheological of Literature Weekly, considering its historical context and analyzing the right place, right time and the right factors when it appeared. We also try to dig out its connection with the "New Youth" and the Commercial Press. Literature Weekly worked eight and a half years with different characters, so we can pay attention to the editors who are close to it.The second chapter focused on the Literature Weekly’s three purposes which are "introducing the world’s literature, researching the ancient Chinese literature and creating the new literature" and their meanings. We are also trying to show the significance of its state of tolerance when it introduced the translation literature, created theory and published new writings which shows great richness and complexity of Literary Weekly.The third chapter respectively talks about the argument between Literature Research Association with the Mandarin Duck Butterfly, Xueheng and Creation Association, showing its function as "fighting positions". At the same time, we would explore the reasons and purposes behind the specific debates and analyze the impacts on both sides of the argument.The fourth chapter takes Literature Weekly as an independent carrier and analyses its influences on Literature Research Association as well as the 1920’s new literature. At last, we can conclude three meanings of Literature Weekly, one is its association to members, second is cultivating new writers and the third one is its becoming a balance of several associations.
