This translation material is selected from the book Power at What Cost, which analyses the structural problems of Canada’s Ontario Hydro in the 1980 s and can be used as a reference for China’s current power reform. Moreover, the material is worth translating because it has not been translated by others before and its sentence structures are of great complexity. With the help of the Internet and dictionaries and after adequate pre-translation preparation, the author carefully translates the material and modifies the translation text again and again until it gets finalized. This report is made up of four parts, i.e. task description, translation process, case study and conclusion. The report first presents the source of the material as well as the reasons to choose it, and then summarizes the process of this translation. As to the final translation text, this report selects typical cases to analyze the difficulties of the translation process and its solutions from three aspects: morphology, syntax and context. Finally, the conclusion part underlines translators’ abilities with bilingual translation and document retrieval.
