Within the discussion arguing about modern Chinese grammar, the sentence structure “shi…de” remains an essential and controversial issue that researchers debate. Based on my internship and study, it is discovered that this sentence structure can be naturally and appropriately applied by domestic students based on their own experience of speaking Chinese. However, while considering this issue, the difficulty raises up for those who have different language backgrounds. so linguists have put their efforts in this field of study, and categorize them. Generally speaking, the majority believes that this “shi … de” structure is a rhetorical technique that can partially express judgment, whereas the other meanings under this rhetorical situation are supposed to be emphasizing the contexts. Nonetheless, there are also some researchers who do not agree with this viewpoint, and this becomes the reason why people cannot reach to an agreement, although a large number of scholars try to apply new concepts and theoretical models to this issue.Hence, regarding there search made by those linguists, I the writer will use the focusing points and related theories to categorize this sentence structure and build the new self-build language database, and therefore come up with some teaching advice. This paper can be divided into five parts. The first part serves as an introduction, in which the contents are focusing on the reason of writing this topic, the actual status of studying this issue, values of this research subject, and a brief explanation for the self-build language database.
