On The Emotional Expression In The Running Stream

Vocal music performance is the recreation of vocal music works; it is a good way to express one’s feeling directly, strongly and subtly. Expression of true feelings is essential to vocal music performance.The vocal music performance could embody a singer’s overall quality and capability. By possessing enough cultural knowledge, artistic accomplishment, affluent feelings of life and social experience, solid performing and singing skills, a singer could sing a vocal work perfectly.The recreation of vocal music performance needs to follow the real intention of vocal music works, achieve the unification of gist and modality; also needs to show the singer’s personality and creation, in order to sublime the theme and reach the acme of perfection.Taking the Yunnan folksong The Running Stream as an example, combining with the experience I performed the song by using bel canto in my solo concert, I state the importance of the understanding of the connotations of vocal works, the mastering of the song’s rhythm, melody and tune, the development of artistic conception of the song, and the use of vocal techniques to express the emotion in the vocal works.
