Leech’s Politeness Principle and Levinson’s PolitenessTheory can make up the deficiency of Cooperative Principle completely. CP, PP and theirmaxims let us understand the relationship between meanings and their related indicationsunder different backgrounds. However, hero and heroine flout their maxims so as to create agreat deal of humor in this famous US TV program.Taking a great deal of dialogues in this famous US TV series as examples and speciallychoosing the paragraph-order can make us know what the aim of the utterances it is and howto create it in this way. Of course, utterances violating CP and PP play a great role in thedialogue analysis, it can help us know the intention of the speakers in the conversation andhelp audiences master the protagonists’ personality very well. And this paper is intending toexplain why hero and heroine flout maxims in the CP and PP sometimes. And why theyconceal their true thoughts and opinions by speaking something indirectly in the conversation.And they can be used to explain the aim of the speakers in the dialogues and communicationin the details. Via this method, the audiences can see lively heroes in the Big Bang Theorystanding in front of them. At then, we are approaching the true meaning in the utterances.
