As a language phenomenon, humor plays an important role in English culture. In daily communication. humor ameliorates human relations, improves the communicative atmosphere, but also is endowed with the symbol of personal wit, glamour and education. In China, to most English learners, it is still a bottleneck to understand and use English humor. A breakthrough will greatly draw their interest in English learning, enrich their background knowledge and improve their English study.Based on conclusion about traditional humor theories, this paper intends to employ, from the angle of pragmatics, many theories like Conversation Principle, Context and Logical Pragmatics to analyze the realization of English humor in many specific examples. The article discusses the phenomenon of violating Cooperative Principle and Politeness Maxim leading to humorous effect and the influence of Context and Logical Deviation on humor realization and suggests putting this research result to practical English teaching.Recently, there are more and more researches on the environmental factor of English teaching. However, little has been known about the effect of humor teaching on second language learning. This paper tries to discuss, from the angle of creating a positive teaching environment, breaking down the communicative barrier between teachers and students, helping students draw attention and attracting them to take part in class activities, the feasibility and advantage of English humor teaching method. It also draws a blueprint of English humor teaching in China. The article is a pioneering attempt to present an integrate model for the realization of English humor. It also offers suggestions on proper application of English humor teaching.
