On the basis of the content analysis of violence in anime and the effect of anime violence onaggressiveness review of previous studies, the dissertation adopted methods of literature, questionnaire,laboratory method and interview, and used inner perspective with369students in high school Grade oneand Grade two being used as subjects. We explore the effect of the features of scene in anime violence (thedegree of close-up, the degree of bloody) on teenagers’ aggressiveness, the effect of the features of animeviolence itself (the degree of reality, the degree of humor) on teenagers’ aggressiveness, the effect of thefeatures of consequences in anime violence (the degree of the suffering of victims, the degree of thepunishment of perpetrators) on teenagers’ aggressiveness.The positivistic portion of the dissertation includes three studies:In study1, we used between-group design of three factors,2(the degree of close-up: highly close-up,obfuscation)×2(the degree of bloody: more blood, less blood)×2(gender: male, female), the dependentvariables were aggressive cognition, hostile mood and aggressive behavior, and aggressive traits level ascovariate.In study2, a2(the degree of reality: realistic, unrealistic)×2(the degree of humor: humorous,humorless)×2(gender: male, female) between-group experiment was designed and conducted, withaggressive cognition, hostile mood and aggressive behavior as the dependent variables, and aggressivetraits level as covariate.In study3, we used between-group design of three factors,2(the degree of the suffering of victims:more suffering, less suffering)×2(the degree of the punishment of perpetrators: more punishment, lesspunishment)×2(gender: male, female), the dependent variables was aggressive cognition, hostile moodand aggressive behavior, and aggressive traits level as covariate.The experiment adopted E-Prime program. First, the participants were told that the objective of thestudy is to observe the effect of the anime reception, received standardized instructions on how to do theexperiment, and completed an aggressive trait questionnaire. Next, the participants watched a section ofanime for3minutes, and then completed the Word Naming Task and a SHS (State Hostility Scale). Afterthat, the program continued with the second section of anime which is the same type with the first section, then the participants completed the Competitive Reaction Time (CRT) Task, and then completedCompetitive Reaction Time Questions. Finally, the participants were probed for suspicion.Findings were obtained as follow:(1) The highly close-up violent anime primed the male’ state hostility;(2) The more bloody violent anime primed the female’ state hostility;(3) The highly close-up and more bloody violent anime primed the male’s aggressive cognition, andprimed the teenagers’ aggressive behavior;(4) The humorless violent anime primed the teenagers’ state hostility;(5) The humorless and realistic violent anime primed the male’s aggressive cognition, and primed theteenagers’ aggressive behavior;(6) when the suffering of victims were deeply described, the female’s state hostility was primed;(7) When the suffering of victims were rarely described, it leaded to higher aggressive behavior inmale;(8) When the perpetrators of violence were rarely punished, the male’s aggressive cognition wasprimed, and the teenagers’ state hostility were primed.
